Working with the wonderful gang at Purpose we were tasked with directing and producing several animations showcasing the new Epson Workforce-Pro printer ranges. To help communicate the key advantagtes to the project we implemented a snazzy morph from one object to another, showing off the speed, economy and cost savings of the new models.
The work required many bespoke tools to be produced, including our own custom dicer. This allowed us to dice any arbitary object (such as a printer, or wind turbine, or car...) into cubes, including filling in any resultant gaps in the diced cube and then manipulating them as a particle simulation. The dicing program was written from scratch, with the particle animations done in Softimage ICE.
CG authouring was done in Softimage, the rendering was in Arnold using our own proprietary shaders, the compositing in Nuke with grade done in Aftereffects.
