We were lucky enough to work with Preloaded on production of the world’s first totally interactive film. Designed to support a six-part BBC TV show about ancient Rome, the idea was to incorporate a series of interactive gaming elements into the film, to weave an educational framework for viewers to take part in while they viewed.
The project gave us a real opportunity to push the boundaries of technology, with stunning results. We planned and modelled 3D environments to replicate live-action sequences within the story. We combined video and CGI seamlessly. And we created an interactive depth not previously seen in this medium.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Huge numbers of players took part, with 1.2 million unique visitors showing up in the first six months. We also won several key industry awards – so the final film was loved by punter and plaudit alike.
